I noticed there is a about a two week wait before I can get my first box. Why is that?
We plan our box contents two weeks in advance. This gives us time to order and transport produce from outside Alaska.
Is the produce organic?
The boxes are a blend of local and organic. Since there aren’t that many certified organic farms in Alaska, filling a box with local organic produce is a tough thing to do. Occasionally we get an Alaska Grown organic vegetable, but everything we bring up from outside the state is certified organic.
Will you be delivering to more cities and towns outside south central Alaska soon?
We would love to provide food grown in Alaska throughout the state, but right now we don’t have any plans to expand the number of communities we deliver to.
What kinds of people are interested in Glacier Valley produce boxes?
People who want to support Alaskan farms and farmers are attracted to our boxes. People who like to eat seasonally subscribe to our boxes. People who want to lower their carbon footprint by eating as locally as possible love our boxes. People who know that Alaska Grown produce tastes better seek out our boxes. All these people realize that Glacier Valley Farm CSA is not a grocery store, and are willing to trade a little convenience for the satisfaction of knowing where their food comes from.
Will I get charged shipping on my Groupon box?
No. Delivery is free for all groupon boxes.
What is the Groupon fine print?
Groupons are available to new customers only. If you currently have a subscription or have had one in the past, you won’t be able to redeem a Groupon.
